Jazztime: Ohad Talmor im Porträt

Mit Ssirus W. Pakzad. Ohad Talmor ist ein Tausendsassa. Der amerikanische Kosmopolit mit israelischen Wurzeln arbeitet als Pädagoge, schreibt Hörspiele, betreibt in Brooklyn den Club „Seeds“.

Vor allem aber fällt er als Tenorsaxofonist, Komponist und Arrangeur auf – etwa für sein „Newsreel Sextet“. Der 55-Jährige war zudem ein enger Vertrauter des legendären Saxofonisten Lee Konitz, dessen musikalischen Nachlass er verwaltet. Beim Stöbern durch die Hinterlassenschaften fand Talmor unbekannte gemeinsame Aufnahmen von Konitz und Ornette Coleman. Auf dem Material basiert Ohad Talmors jüngstes Projekt „Back to the Land“
