In this hour-long edition of the programme Verity Sharp presents spoken word which ‘tastes like peaches, metal and blood’ from Lukasz Polowczyk’s new project Ain’t About Me, a composition from Iranian artist and political prisoner Mehdi Rajabian and tape music ‘in the key of no’ from Alice Kemp.
Plus we speculate on what a post-apocalyptic Britain would sound like with composer Iain Chambers’ latest work exploring a decommissioned Ministry of Defence site at Orford Ness on the Suffolk coast. Since the Ministry of Defence left in 1993, the buildings have been overrun by nature. Chambers records air ducts packed with nests of roosting birds, seagulls crowding former atomic weapon labs and metal stairwells transformed into Aeolian harps. Produced by Frank Palmer.
