Henning Bolte – DrawNotes / Ausstellung 9. Katowice JazzArt Festival 2020

The drawings of DrawNotes were created in live drawing synchronously to live performances. They are visual manifestations of my watching and listening experience in concerts. This practice considerably heightened my involvement in the music played and intensified my active listening. When it comes to longer term memory and reviewing live music DrawNotes also appeared to provide a quicker, livelier and more exact memory of the experienced music than purely written notes.
