Anlässlich des 100. Geburtstags von Sir David Attenborough präsentiert Verity Sharp ein Mixtape, das die Art und Weise feiert, wie Tonaufnahmen und das Zuhören und Vorstellen uns in eine enge Beziehung zu anderen Spezies bringen können.
Das Mixtape, das in Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Künstlerin und Forscherin Rebecca Lennon und der Autorin Ella Finer entstanden ist, führt durch musikalische und klangliche Welten, die menschliche und übermenschliche Präsenzen auf vielfältige Weise abstrahieren, neu interpretieren und mit ihnen in Verbindung treten. Atem, Schwingung, Rhythmus, Wackeln – wir begegnen dem Herzschlag eines Schwans, der Stimme eines Wals, dem Schnurren eines Geparden, dem klangvollen Leben von Bienen, Füchsen und Straßenhunden. Finers Konzept vom „wilden Leben des Klangs“ spricht etwas an, das die klangliche und die tierische Welt gemeinsam haben: eine Freiheit von Besitz, ein Widerstand gegen saubere Kategorisierung, ein Raum, in dem Verbindung entstehen kann.
