BIMHUIS TV: Guy Salamon Group vom 20.11.2020
The first result of a new BIMHUIS Productions project in collaboration with Ammodo, in which musicians answer the question: how do you make new work in times like these?
The band of the Israeli drummer Guy Salamon is a multicultural musical company and so you can hear. There are influences from, among others, Charles Mingus, Willem Breuker, but also from folk music from the Balkans and Israel. Contagiously swinging, theatrical music that is tightly composed and at the same time leaves enough room for improvisation. Earlier the band impressed with their debut album Unfollow the Leader, also with compositions by Salamons own hand. The record won the first prize at Keep an Eye – The Records. Guy Salamon has already worked with Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, Jasper Blom and Tineke Postma, among others. Now he gets the chance to create new work, in the new trajcet Close Distance of BIMHUIS Productions. How do you do that as a musician in times of Corona? Salamon gives us an answer to that question on November 20.
