„Im Kosmos der Psychonauten“ Die norwegische Band Motorpsycho und ihre Fans Mit Tim Schauen

Die knapp 25 Studioalben der 1989 gegründeten Band Motorpsycho klingen allesamt unterschiedlich. Klar ist nur: Am Anfang spielten die Norweger Alternative Metal. 

Diese Unberechenbarkeit macht es für die Fans, die sich selbst Psychonauten nennen, spannend. Und für die Band erst recht. Einblick in einen ganz eigenen Kosmos.

Wir beschäftigen uns fünf Stunden (!) mit einer (!) Band, nein: einem Phänomen – dem norwegischen Trio Motorpsycho. 1989 in Trondheim gegründet und schon lange schwer dem psychedelischen Rock der 60er- und 70er-Jahre verhaftet. Soeben ist ihr 24. Studioalbum erschienen, dazu kurze EPs, Kompilationen, Live-Alben und andere Kooperationen. Es gibt also einiges zu entdecken. Wir spielen Musik aus allen Schaffensphasen – und das sind einige. Da sind Songs dabei, die bislang wohl kaum im Radio zu hören waren. Und natürlich gibt auch Bent Saether Auskunft…

Das Ehepaar Jeanettte und Rolf Gustavus gründete zusammen mit und für die Band eigens ein Plattenlabel, um ihrer Lieblingsband größtmögliche künstlerische Freiheit einräumen zu können: Bei Stickman Records veröffentlicht Motorpsycho bis heute.
