Mit Marcus A. Woelfle (Bayern 2). John David „Johnny“ Coles (* 3. Juli 1926 in Trenton; † 21. Dezember 1997 in Philadelphia) war ein US-amerikanischer Jazztrompeter und -flügelhornist. „Der unterschätzte und extrem effektive Improvisator“ konnte dem Rough Guide Jazz zufolge „innerhalb seines tonalen Spektrums einerseits viel mit nur wenigen Noten ausdrücken und andererseits, falls erforderlich, eine flüssige Technik aufbieten.“
